Showcase - Female Elven Archer

Today I'm posting up a piece of work I finished a few days ago (and oddly this is not the first place its been shown I displayed firstly on the facebook site 'eavier metal) the figure comes from Avatars Of War and is a lovely sculpt with very few mould lines to clean off. the only real additions to this fine figure is the base and the arrow which I will describe details on, after the pictures.

Firstly I should tell you about the only addition to the figure itself which as I said before is the arrow, this was scratch build from a short length of 0.5mm wire and in order that the tip of the arrow differed from the shaft it was shaped by hammering the tip flat and then gently filing to a point.
The second element that makes this one a little odd is the 'water feature' base, from my earliest days in modelling I always loved the little details and easter eggs you could put in and one I always wanted to do was have a fish swimming around the edge of a piece and in this one I finally did it.
So how was this done, I initially piled and glued the Rock plinth in place and based the floor of the river using GW texture paint. Once this had all set I then created a clear plasti-card side wall (I actually used blister pack/clamshell pack plastic for this (two reasons 1, its cheaper & 2, recycling is cool!) I also set in at this stage the water rushes and did the first (of a great many) level of Valejeo Still Water effect (which due to my less that watertight construction leaked a bit) while this was setting I set to making a green stuff fish. which was added in the second batch of water effect (rinse and repeat till water level full and several weeks have passed) the only other real interest point does not show too clearly on these photos but is really simple and effective, our elf hero is tracking someone and they left wet footprints on the rock she is standing on. This effect was achieved very simply by painting small foot print marks on the dull matt rock with gloss varnish.
